数学 requires many habits of mind, including patience, 毅力, and openness to new ways of understanding. For those who persevere, the rewards include not only marketable skills but an encounter with the beauty of pure rational truth. As a teacher at the University of Mary I am privileged to work with students at all levels, from freshmen to seniors, as they develop their skills and encounter mathematics more fully.
